The joint master's program presentation between Wayne State University in the United States and our school of business was successfully held

In order to further promote the internationalization process of the School of Business and implement the school's 14th Five Year Plan internationalization strategy goals, on the afternoon of March 28, 2024, the School of Business at Shanghai Electric Power College invited Joey Van Devender, Vice Dean of the McIlrich School of Business at Wayne State University in the United States, to deliver a master's program presentation at our university. Prof. Wang Shuo, Director of the International Cooperation Project Office at the School of Business of Shanghai Electric University, and Li Chang, Overseas Exchange Counselor at the School of Business of Shanghai Electric University, attended the meeting.

Professor Joey, Vice Dean of the McIlrich School of Business at Wayne State University in the United States, introduced the disciplinary development and master's program overview of McIlrich School of Business, and explained its top ranked majors in the United States and the world.

Professor Joey explained the specific content and characteristics of the collaborative project. This project will cover multiple fields such as accounting, finance, management, marketing, supply chain management, technology, information systems, and analysis, providing students with diverse learning options. At the same time, the collaborative project will also focus on cultivating students' practical abilities, providing them with the opportunity to participate in practical project operations and enhance their ability to solve practical problems.

Professor Joey showcased the city of Detroit and its cultural customs, allowing students to further understand the surrounding environment of the school and the specific measures taken by the school to ensure the safety of the entire university community for student safety.

Professor Joey shared and elaborated on the channels for applying for this collaborative project during the presentation, and provided a detailed explanation of the required documents for the application, including undergraduate transcripts, personal resumes, personal statements, and English proficiency scores. In addition, he also mentioned the relevant requirements for applying for scholarships.

The students actively participated in the communication session, Joey carefully answered the questions raised by the students, and enthusiastically interacted with the attending parents. After the meeting, representatives of the Business School and Professor Joey exchanged views on the future direction and details of cooperation between the two schools, reached preliminary cooperation intentions, and deepened the friendship between the two schools. We believe that with the joint efforts of both parties, this cooperation project will also provide high-quality educational resources and a broad development platform for more students who are interested in pursuing master's degrees and further studies in the United States.
