Mark A. Nook, the President of the University of North Iowa in the United States, visited our school on August 30th. President Gong Siyi warmly welcomed the arrival of Mark A. Nook and his team, and proposed specific measures to further deepen the cooperation between the two schools based on existing cooperation areas. Vice President Yang Junjie received the visiting delegation in the 316 Meeting Room of the Administrative Building of Lingang Campus, with the participation of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office and the Business School.



At the meeting, the International Cooperation and Exchange Department introduced the professional settings, talent cultivation, scientific research, integration of industry and education, and internationalization overview of Shanghai Dianji University. Vice President Yang Junjie emphasized our school's development philosophy of being the most close to the port, the most open, and the most integrated with industry and education based on the school's recent development situation, and pointed out that the development of the port and the development of the electric motor are complementary. He stated that in the future, the school will strengthen deep level cooperation with enterprises in talent cultivation and technological exchange, expand international cooperation and exchange space with universities, such as teacher exchange, scientific research cooperation, and professional exchange.



Mark A. Nook expressed gratitude for the school's reception and heartfelt congratulations on the smooth progress of our 70th anniversary celebration. Mark A. Nook pointed out that schools attach great importance to international cooperation, and various exchange programs have played an important role in cultivating cross-cultural communication skills among teachers and students.



The two schools discussed the issues arising from the cooperation projects and discussed specific matters such as internship projects, dual degree programs, long-term MBA programs, short-term MBA programs, and cross-cultural language training programs that can be carried out after policy reform. This meeting has laid a solid foundation for further cooperation between the two schools. Both sides will continue to strengthen communication and cooperation, jointly promote the development of education, and contribute to cultivating more high-quality talents with international perspectives and cross-cultural communication abilities.



The University of North Iowa, founded in 1876, is a century old state public university and one of the top two public universities in the US NEWS MW. It has a deep cooperation history with our university for 18 years. The school has 21 independent colleges that offer over 120 types of degrees, with over 14000 students enrolled. It has obtained the highest certification from AACSB Business School and was one of the first Sino US degree mutual recognition institutions by the Chinese Ministry of Education in 2003.
