Shen Yifei
I am Shen Yifei from class 1821, international economics and trade, Shanghai Institute of electrical engineering. I entered the University of Northern Iowa in August 2020 and went to the United States in August 2021.
In this year's American life, I have gained a lot. I not only deeply felt the native culture of the United States, but also met many interesting American classmates and professors. Everyone in Northern Ireland is very friendly and always provides help when I need it. I also learned a lot of professional knowledge, deeply felt the atmosphere of American universities, participated in many activities, and traveled to many places, I think this project is very worthwhile.
I plan to go to the UK for postgraduate studies after I graduate from college. At present, I have received offers from Glasgow University, Southampton University, Queen Mary University and Newcastle University.
Gao Jun
I'm Gao Jun from class 1821 of international trade. As a student of the China US cooperation undergraduate program in international economy and trade, I look back on my college life in the past four years with deep feelings when I am about to graduate.
Because of Shanghai's spring college entrance examination policy, after the 2018 spring college entrance examination, I filled in the international economy and trade (Sino US cooperation) major of the business school and was successfully admitted after the interview. The college has taken into account the actual situation of the majority of enrolled students in advance, formulated a set of training programs with Chinese foreign cooperation characteristics, and supplemented many language and general courses such as oral English, college students' writing and reporting, world history, etc. while offering professional courses step by step, which has made me adapt to the all English teaching mode in a relatively short time and achieved good results in some subjects.
In the introduced courses, the lecturers will not only systematically explain some foreign classic textbooks, but also compare and explain the contents of domestic mainstream textbooks, taking into account the different learning needs of students who choose to study and exchange in the United States in the next two years and those who continue to stay in China. Generally speaking, there are both scientific and comprehensive overall curriculum and personalized personal training.
Due to the epidemic and other personal factors, I did not choose to go abroad after my sophomore year. The college has specially adjusted the training program according to the actual learning needs of our students who have not gone abroad. In our junior and senior high schools, we have further learned more practical professional knowledge that may be applied in our future career, which has benefited our students a lot.
After graduation from the University, out of my personal choice, I did not participate in the vast army of postgraduate entrance examinations, but used my spare time to further improve myself. At present, due to the impact of the epidemic, my job search has been suspended, and I can find my favorite job after Shanghai resumes.
In terms of University certificates, I obtained the completion certificate of sdju-uni bilateral students leaders' Forum in 2021.
Wang Chengyue
In the international classroom, the advanced teaching mode and friendly classroom interaction have given me the opportunity to step into the professional field I once dared not touch and explore the charm of different learning methods. I am Wang Chengyue, a 2018 major in international economics and trade (Sino US cooperation) at Shanghai Institute of electrical engineering. In the past few years, I have set foot on the other side of the ocean many times in the United States, which is full of different cultural styles, looking for the spring, summer, autumn and winter there, walking between the mountains and rivers... Gradually, I have developed a curiosity about American college life. This curiosity makes me constantly strive to get close to here, It gave me the motivation to take the first step. However, I should have started a new college life in the United States in 2020, the third year of college, and put a perfect end to my four-year undergraduate career there... The epidemic cruelly cut off my way to leap into the world, and wanted me to embrace regret and turn around to return to the university campus with lingering green. Even if force majeure disrupted my plan to study in the United States, I resolutely chose the online learning method and walked into the interesting classroom of the University of Northern Iowa in the United States at home.
Here, although the time difference and distance separate students and teachers from all over the world, it makes group activities and after-school exchanges between teachers and students more warm. The memories of cordial exchanges with students and teachers in the business analytics fundamental course are unforgettable to me. The teacher's warm care and patient answers made me unexpectedly pick up my interest in business analytics, and also strengthened my determination to study my chosen major. In the principle of marketing class, I met Sara, an American classmate. Her lively learning ignited the passion of our whole group to attack final paper. Her enthusiasm and extroversion made me have a good partner on both sides of the Pacific who can communicate with each other. I felt a more real experience of studying abroad in my conversation with her. Although I could not contact the campus buildings of the Northern Iowa campus, Unable to enter the colorful and interesting campus activities and the quiet and majestic library, I think I am enjoying the campus atmosphere in Northern Iowa. I am very grateful for this 2 + 2 learning experience, which has built an important cornerstone for me to climb higher in life, taught me how to communicate with professors, how to get along with my classmates, how to get the greatest improvement in my study and life, how to adapt to the fast pace of every class at the fastest speed... It has supported my belief in continuing to study, and has become a part of my motivation to apply for a master's degree at the University of Hong Kong education.
Although this short and precious memory is mixed with traces of regret and discontent, it is the most unforgettable, vivid and cherished thing in my professional study career of international economy and trade (Sino US cooperation)
